Lately, I find myself consistently migrating my #Typescript code to #Javascript + #JSDoc
Much less boilerplate, almost the same advantages

We have a new blog on "Embracing Type Definitions and JSDoc Comments in JS packages".

#100DaysOfCode Day 93 (Second run)
We're moving! I spent all day on allowing customizations in the library, and documenting using #jsdoc!
The intellisense is crazy! The library doesn't even need documentation, all you have to do is hover over everything!
More coming soon :)
So there was a reason why I couldn't use #TypeScript for something, so I tried using #JSDoc instead and pulled in custom TS types using the "@ typedef {import(./types)}" syntax. I have to say, I wasn't unimpressed. 😉
Must have missed this, but in #JSDOC you can even specify expected values: Makes calling helper functions in #TagManagement Systems less error-prone. See this example. More on why you should JSDOC your TMS #Javascript: https://t.co/OYJnoRD1RP

Thanks to @docfxproject we built a custom connector for #SQL and extending with an internal tool to map #SQL to our tiered architecture, especially BALs and DAOs. Giving our developers interactive documentation. I wish we could bridge with #JSDoc and #Sassdoc
10/10 🧵 In the end, the choice between #TypeScript and #JavaScript with #JSDoc comes down to the specific needs and preferences of the dev team or individual developer. Understanding the reasons behind these choices is key.

In our current project, we use #JSDoc for type safety. I think it is working well, plus it's more efficient and easier than converting the whole project to #Typescript.
It's happening!!! Svelte repo is finally being converted from Typescript to Javascript with Jsdoc

#JSDoc give you one big benefit: the engine that will parse your config file do not have to deal with full dependency tree of the lib/framework from which you import the defaultConfig. One day, @nuxt_js even had to move the config to a separate file to avoid performance issues.

Whichever tool started this configuration trend is an absolute genius.
- No more weird JSDOC "types" comments.
- No more weird "const x: Y = {}; export default x" repetition.
Chef's kiss.

I never actually read the documentation looking for APIs or options. I just `Ctrl+Space` and see what options the IDE tells me. Thats why #JSDoc is underrated important even if you have cool documentation web page
