Last night on Amazon Prime, I watched 'Pandora and the Flying Dutchman' (1951): 'Fishermen in 1930s Spain find the bodies of a 17th-century Dutch sea captain (James Mason) and a woman (Ava Gardner) willing to die for him.' Although only briefly showing the seventeenth century, I think we can still add it to our *Film Set in the 17th Century* group. It's an odd, but lovely, film - having a sort of dream-like tone. Gardner is luminous, with a mellifluous voice.
