Mind-blowing fact: My best friend @mkbraudaway lives in AZ, I’m in NC, and we’ve only met once, but talk all the time. We just traced our family trees and realized our lines have run a parallel, 400-year marathon across the globe. 🤯🗺️ We had a feeling 😂❤️
1. THE EUROPEAN CROSSROADS & COLONIAL LANDINGS
• My Lines: Clan MacBean (McBee) Highlanders (Inverness), House of MacBeth, Devon gentry (England), & Royal Maguire Clan (Ireland).
• Their Lines: Clan Barclay Lowlanders, Clan Fraser (Inverness), English merchant tailors, House of Howard, & Darcy Barons.
• The Link: Both families crossed via Irish/English ports, landing in Virginia and Philadelphia before trekking the Great Wagon Road to become neighbors/traders in colonial North Carolina.
2. THE DEEP SOUTH FRONT LINES (1813–1830s)
• My Family: Muscogee Creek Nation Wind Clan royalty. We were already anchored in Alabama long before theirs arrived. My 4x great-grandfather and 4x great uncle (John "Jack" Weatherford and Chief Red Eagle Weatherford),one helped Jackson and one fiercely defended Native lands in 1813. Jack held a 640-acre presidential treaty land greant. (Later spelling changed to Kellam for protection).
• Their Family: Paternal side surged into the "Alabama Land Rush," establishing cotton fields directly down the river from my family's trade networks—turning opposing forces into immediate neighbors.
3. THE SEPARATE WAR LINES & WESTWARD PATHS
• My Family: One Cousin Tracked west through Texas. My 5x great-uncle Vardry McBee built a Carolinas railroad empire, while grandfather Mathias McBee pioneered Old Tishomingo, Mississippi.
• Their Family: Deep military roots. Their paternal line fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Confederate side of the Civil War. Concurrently, their maternal side fought for the Union (7th Maryland Infantry) while their Norwegian ancestors pioneered the plains into Colorado.
4. THE ARIZONA CONVERGENCE & THE MID-CENTURY CLASSMATES
• In the early 1900s, both massive loops slammed into territorial Arizona.
• My Family: Built the iconic, historic Weatherford Hotel in the pine forests of Flagstaff.
• Their Family: Settled rural acreage in Laveen/Phoenix next to the Akimel O'odham nation. One grandfather founded Critchfield Granite Works; the other pioneered industrial steel building construction.
• The Climax: Both lines hit the exact same neighborhood. In mid-century Phoenix, my cousin and their father grew up as immediate neighbors and sat next to each other as high school classmates, completely unaware of the 300 years of shared history behind them.
5. THE FULL CIRCLE
Today, I live right back in the North Carolina cradle where our immigrant ancestors first became neighbors. Meanwhile, my best friend is in Arizona looking at their grandfather's vintage industrial granite-shaping steel template hanging on their wall.
Crossed oceans, sailed the same ports, stood on opposite sides of Alabama land struggles, grew up as schoolmates in Phoenix, and mirrored each other across a continent—all to end up best friends today. History is a living matrix built to last in stone.🪶 🌵⛰️✨
🚨 “We destroyed temples and wiped out idol worship with the sword…” — Akbar after Chittor victory (1568)
📜 From Mughal record Fathnama-i-Chittor
Still called secular? 🤔
Time to face the truth.

Tipu Sultan’s reign was marked by temple destructions, forced conversions, and violent suppression of those who didn’t share his beliefs. His actions speak for themselves, and it’s important to acknowledge the darker side of his legacy. #TruthInHistory #KnowYourPast
@ARanganathan72
In a nation that still celebrates the man who demolished temples, forcibly converted Hindus, called for the annihilation of the infidel, @vikramsampath's new book exposes the real Tipu Sultan. It is certain to be banned. Read it before it is.

Philosophy brings understanding. Literature brings the ability to feel emotions and sufferings. History brings knowledge. All are important but this is history that blesses life with meaning. That is why, we need history more than anything else in our lives.
