From yesterdays final rollup testing (note - still room for improvement here) #js13k #KontraJS unoptimized is ~209kb kontra.min.js (which I was using day 1 & 2 + last year) is ~31kb My rolled version is currently 60-80kb, minified to 11kb. And then packed it goes to ~5kb 👌

Step 1a) Creating the sprite [1bit] I created my own simple pixel art tool (minPIX) for this step using a mix of javascript and the tiny JS game engine #KontraJS. There are 2x options, 1-bit (single colour) or mutli-colour. Quick gif of the 1-bit skull sprite creation process:

As well as my mini-warmup game Ive also been working on a pixel art editor 'minPIX'. Bare basics, its built with #kontrajs & js. Planning to use it to generate super compressed #pixelart for my #js13k game. Got pixels drawing tonight so heres a Pikachu! #gamejam #gamedev

More work on my pre-js13k warmup game. Tonight added basic sfx & some test music (not present in the gif unfortunately!) With no real attempts at being efficent with code its around 90kb for this little demo. #gamedev #kontrajs #js13k #gamejam

Spent some time this week working on a tiny lightweight 128x128 game using the JS game engine Kontra.js - ahead of the #js13k gamejam. Just a bit of #javascript practice & worked out this basic mobile & web UI yesterday. Might add some sfx & music next! #KontraJS #GameDev

Few small fixes/updates to #js13kBall; really need to rewrite it though TBH. To fit the 404 theme I added a msg whenever a ball is beyond boundaries (way easier than proper collision detection😅). #js13k #KontraJS #JezzBall #indiedev #gamedev #gamejam #JavaScript #100DaysOfCode

Worked on #js13kBall for #100DaysOfCode today. Maybe it will be playable in time! The code is embarrassingly bad and full of bugs but I made decent progress. 😅 Seems to be around 2.3kb so far. #js13k #KontraJS #JezzBall #indiegame #indiedev #gamedev #gamejam #JavaScript #HTML5
