Over 50,000 thousands Maronite lived in Cyprus around 1400AC.
During the Turkish invasion in 1974, most the Northern villages were heavily occupied by Maronite.
At least 3000 lived in #Kormakitis
I personally participated in demonstrations in #Nicosia against the Turkish occupation back in 1990.
I was also one of the founders of Saint Maron Choir with Msgr P. Gemayel and soeur L. Khawand.
Sad to miss it but glad @UKinCyprus was represented at the opening of the #Kormakitis Centre for Cooperation yesterday. Look forward to visiting @CentreKcc soon
