Wouldn’t be surprised if we continue seeing more stories like #LAEXposed surface in the coming weeks/months. Some institutes have Islamophobia deeply rooted in their culture & we’ve probs all experienced/seen it at some point in either ed/work environment. More needs to be done.

1/ In 2014 when the SLT changed, the environment became a lot more Islamophobic. The prayer space that had been running calmly and comfortably for two years was suddenly a “health and safety risk” according to new management. #LAEXposed

2022 - Dear students, pray in a bar or don't pray at all LAE SLT offer an off-site "Quiet Room" for students, despite rooms being available on-site. The student body was not consulted on this. The Quiet Room is a bar. #LAEXposed

2012 - Students pray freely LAE sixth form in Stratford opened in the year 2012. Students were allowed to pray anytime in the main hall on-site. #LAEXposed

14. Students are upset and outraged about the fact they are forced to choose between praying in a bar or have nothing at all. On top of this the unfair rules imposed on anyone wanting to use the off-site facility to pray are appalling. #LAExposed

8. The space is only available for an hour during lunch meaning students have no place to pray any other prayers that fall during school time. Students have to pray outside for any prayers that aren't during the booking slot. #LAExposed

6. We’re still trying to figure out why prayer specifically needs supervision whilst other student led activities don’t. If LAE insist that supervision is necessary (it is not), why would it be appropriate for students to supervise other students? #LAExposed
