๐ฏHere is what I observed in the portfolio of Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip fund.
1โฃOnly 1 stock is above 5% of total holdings
2โฃTop 5 Stocks = 20% of total Holdings
3โฃTop 10 stocks = 31% of total Holdings
๐กEven the most favorite stock has a statistical cap.
๐กThe top 10 holdings add up to just 31% of the total holdings.
4โฃNo. Stocks in Portfolio = 80
๐กEven a big mutual fund house like Mirae diversifies into 80 companies to spread out the risk.
5โฃ Top 3 Sectors = 33% of total Holdings
๐กThe diversification is across sectors and not just a couple few. Again, Spread the risk.
6โฃ Market Capitalization
๐กThe portfolio has exposure to all three, large, Mid, and Small cap companies. This of course will be different, Fund to Fund. This denotes the risk appetite of a fund. Small and midcaps are considered riskier when compared to large caps.
