Delighted to say that I got a Distinction!
It wasn't the purpose of the appeal but it does feel nice.
Well done to @MusNetIrl and I think it's wonderful that instruments will be available to older people.
Music is a life long journey for everyone.

OK, I've recorded my bits for the @MusNetIrl #grade1athon (finally). A covid vaccination yesterday left me a little woozy so had to put it off until tonight. Over the past year I've recorded for loads of things but I was really nervous for this! A fish out of water in woodwind!

A quick video where I play an instrument other than an accordion! My wife bought a saxophone for me before we had kids and I took a few lessons almost 20 years ago. When the kids came along it went back in the case for many years and Iโm now doing @MusNetIrl #MNGrade1athon

Iโve just had a very generous donation that has put me very close to my target for the @MusNetIrl #MNGrade1athon appeal. I appreciate every single donation that people have made, thank you so much.
It would be rather lovely to get over the line on my birthday. Thank you!
A kind friend has sent me on a new box of reeds to help with my practice for the @MusNetIrl Grade 1 challenge.
Iโm just under halfway to my target so if youโd like to help the campaign, details below.
All donations gratefully received!

Learning an instrument is like learning a language. As @malobass says: "Music allows you to share moments with people and to express things in yourself that you couldn't otherwise do."
