We levelled in #MarginallyWaterdeep #DnD5E and since Val managed to placate the dragon with a song (okay, and a goddamn artifact) the natural choice was to have them take a level in bard, putting them at Bard (College of Lore) 7/Rogue (Arcane Trickster) 5.

Val managed to persuade an adult black dragon that they hadn't intended to fuck it up by giving it a potion of flying of unknown duration and play a fucken doss lute song to it to give the rest of the party time to pass and I felt SO CLASSIC BARD. #DnD5E #MarginallyWaterdeep
We might have been able to not walk right into it, except Val (bard/rogue) got a total 11 on Stealth, Nothing (NPC bard) got 14, and even Quendar (NPC rogue) got something like 12...

Apparently black dragons are outstandingly sadistic. Val's taken advantage of enemies' sadistic tendencies to get something out of them in the past, even chaotic evil ones, but none of them were Huge.

The dragon's presumably specifically displeased with Val, because they were the one who gave it the Potion of Healing/Flying (thanks Xoblob), which did allow it to fly despite an injured wing. The last thing we'd heard from it was a crash landing. #DnD5E #DnD #MarginallyWaterdeep
