I'm deeply disappointed by the recent decision made by Unity to change its business model. After dedicating years of hard work to my game Eelah, this has left me questioning the path forward. I really hope that Unity reconsiders this decision.

I'm just a simple boy who learns game development by myself. That's the reason I have been using Unity for the past 3 years. And now, mfs had to use fee on games per fucking install. I didnt expect this from a company which was once so humble.
dang... this is repost worth ๐คฃ

Yup. I'm moving to Godot.

I will probably be moving away from unity. This is a good video check it out. https://t.co/SD5x22lY0z #NoUnityWithFees Not sure which engine will be moving to but will keep yall updated. :) #gamedev #gamedevelopment
It's looking more and more like I'm either gonna switch engines or close up shop.
I may never reach Unity's income threshold with a game, but that doesn't matter. I can't support such strong-arm tactics.
Congrats Unity, you made Unreal's 5% cut look good.

I started my project six months ago with Unity because UE5 looked overkill. Unfortunately, this company cannot be trusted anymore with retroactive changes and all shit happening now. Moving to Unreal, starting over from scratch.

Long live Godot!!! #NOUNITYWITHFEES
I began moving to Godot Engine earlier this month for a project, but after seeing what Unity has done I decided to not go back to Unity for any of my future projects. Any remaining trust I had has been lost. #NoUnityWithFees
We've always been a Godot-first shop (and by shop I mean, one person arrangement) but we always had an asterisk with "We'll use Unity if if guarantees us funding or support" but yeah, those days are gone.
We're hitched with #GodotEngine for good. Whoop whoop. #NoUnityWithFees
This is ridiculous! Fire Riccitiello and walk this back. This will devastate the indie and VR Dev communities.

If we need to learn something from the recent ongoing news in the gaming industry, here's a noteworthy point:
#Unity has failed to unite with their own developers, yet they have succeeded in uniting all other game engines team/companies to support the needs of indie developers ๐ฅ
