+ “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known” (Lk 8:16–18).

We’ve all felt like the stranger—new job, new neighborhood, new school. This #NationalMigrationWeek, Bro. Mickey McGrath, OSFS, asks: What if the walls we build blind us to the humanity of our neighbors & even Christ Himself? Watch: https://t.co/bkoMVJOgwS

For 45 years, the #Catholic Church in the United States has celebrated #NationalMigrationWeek, a time to reflect on our history as an immigrant Church and on the countless ways our nation has been enriched by generations of immigrants.

As we enter #NationalMigrationWeek today, we pray for migrants and refugees across the globe. 🌎 The Catholic Church in the United States has observed this week for over 40 years, traditionally culminating in the Holy See’s World Day of Migrants and Refugees, a day commemorated by the Universal Church since 1914.

At the close of this #NationalMigrationWeek, we as Our Lady of Guadalupe to wrap each of us, and all our loved ones, in the mantle of her tender care, especially those who are suffering the cruelty of our broken immigration system.

Let us pray for the grace and strength to create a society that better serves the poor and the least among us, a society of solidarity and compassion. #NationalMigrationWeek

At the altar, Jesus shares his Body and Blood with us. That means we have his divine life within us — our life is no longer our own. We have the power to love as he loves, the duty to serve as he serves, the ability to forgive as he forgives. #NationalMigrationWeek
