Wow. This story takes you there... among the people and the sheep of the Fells.

The farmer bought Doris at the autumn sale in Lazonby when she was four months old.
She was one of six Texel gimmer lambs in a pen. The farmer walked the pen once, looking at feet and condition and the general bearing of each animal. Five of the lambs moved away from him. One stood at the gate of the pen and looked at the fell through the auction mart roof and the gap in the corrugated sheeting above the pens where the sky showed through.
The farmer bought that one.
He put her in the trailer with two older ewes from the home flock. The older ewes moved to the back of the trailer. Doris stood at the trailer slats and watched the road to the fell.
He turned her out in October.
It was cold. The older ewes went to the shelter of the low wall. Doris walked directly up the fell to the 380-metre contour, stood into the wind, and looked at the fell from the top down.
She was four months old.
She stood there for a long time.
"She was mapping it," the farmer told Brian the following spring. "I know that sounds daft. But she stood up there for about twenty minutes and then came back down and she's known where everything is ever since. Never seen her lost. Never seen her uncertain about a route."
Brian: "Herdwicks do that. Heft-memory, they call it. Passed from ewe to lamb."
Farmer: "She's a Texel."
Brian: "Aye."
Neither of them said anything for a while.
"She found the east wall gap in her first month," the farmer said eventually. "I didn't show her. I didn't know it was there."
Brian looked at his own wall.
Brian knew about the gap.
Brian said nothing.
Doris was four months old.
Doris had already mapped the fell and found the exit.
The rest was just detail.

“We have enjoyed the feast generously laid out for us by Mother Earth, but now the plates are empty and the dining room is a mess. It’s time we started doing the dishes in Mother Earth’s kitchen” (Kimmerer 328).

To become naturalized is to live as if your children’s future matters, to take care of the land as if our lives and the lives if all our relatives depend on it. Because they do” (Kimmerer 215).

@PhysInHistory And yet the focus is still on knowledge.
Why can my students identify every plant they see but when I ask them how the plants take care of each other, how they interact with each other, they have no answer?
Perhaps those "savages" were right all along.

The 5th Luce Indigenous Knowledge cohort shared, learned, and reflected together this week as they developed relationships and visions for their work. We thank them for showing up as their best selves and wish them continued success in their dedication to #NativeKnowledge.

At convenings, fellows overcome challenges they may experience by being a #NativeKnowledge holder or maker, sometimes as the only one in their field or community. This first gathering lays the foundation of the two-year fellowship, and build relationships between the fellows.

I think it's really interesting the role of our human instinct in uncovering the mystery of the UFO/UAP phenomenon and interaction with non-human intelligence (NHI).
This "instinctual knowing" capability we have is not driven by reasoning and deduction, or necessarily by the same sensory information of "evidence and proof" that convinces us intellectually.
There is other sensory evidence in our space that can be processed by higher levels of our human sensing capability—what we might label instinct or intuition, or just "i know its real"— which i think can represent a higher aspect of our intelligence that is vital to sensing this phenomenon.
We should always keep in mind that Contact has two sides: there is NHI and there is HI. Human Intelligence is one side of this interaction, and that intelligence also has a higher set of capabilities to detect and uncover the phenomenon and to interface with other intelligences, even if it's relegated (or disparaged) as being "subjective to an individual's experience."
So you could say: who cares, so what? Who cares if someone has "a sense" or "an intuition" of anything, it doesn't prove anything to me. Right—"to me." That's my point, no it doesn't. It is an individual's own ability, and we each have it.
But your sensing ability can influence and encourage my sensing ability. And there may be a collective psychic networking of our abilities together. Is this, in part, how the human species could come to collectively perceive what the NHI is and why they're here?
But if the only thing that matters to anyone is the "objective evidence" needed to convince many minds intellectually, all at once, we may loose touch with the sensing capabilities of a single, human mind and the psychic network that connects them, and with this a vital aspect of our side in the NHI-Human interaction.
A number of people are sharing over here from the "sensing" intuition in their human intelligence: https://t.co/MxcEcrkJfn…
I look forward to hearing more from the full spectrum of the HI, the human intelligence.
