Speaking on behalf of the Lebanese and Lebanese Americans, 29 Lebanese Americans endorse Harris for president.

I'm strictly non-partisan and will leave Harris v Trump for another day. It doesn't matter to me whether Lebanese Americans endorse Harris or Trump. In fact, diversity is a healthy sign of assimilation. Lebanese Americans, like all Americans, are not one monolithic bloc.
But I'm also a foreign policy creature, and I find the Lebanese American endorsement of Harris below a horrible endorsement of Islamist #Iran regime and its proxies, especially #Hezbollah in #Lebanon. This is what the endorsement says:
"Ensuring enactment of transparent economic reforms, electing a president in Lebanon who is competent and reform-minded, supporting Lebanon’s health and education sectors, investing in communities through local empowerment programs, ensuring de-escalation and peace in Lebanon, protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and strengthening the Lebanese Armed Forces."
In the mumble jumble above, the 29 Lebanese Americans leave out disbanding and disarming all militias (including Hezbollah) in line with the Lebanese constitution, as amended by the 1990 Taef Agreement that was voted into the Lebanese constitution.
It also leaves out "disbanding and disarming all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias on Lebanese territory" in line with UN Security Council resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1701 (2006).
It then replaces actual clear-eyed policy with "de-escalation and peace in Lebanon." Notice that peace here is "in Lebanon," not with Israel, because God forbid Lebanese Americans utter anything (Lebanon peace with Israel) that disagrees with Islamist Iran and Hezbollah ideology.
Then this gem: "Bringing an end to the Israel-Hamas war is important to our community." How is Israel and the Palestinians a Lebanese issue?
This is not a Lebanese American statement. This is a Lebanese Iranian position.
