Great news that the Royal Devon University Healthcare Trust is championing the #NursesWay - a key cycle route for our city linking schools, hospitals, nurseries and the new train station.
Have you heard about the 'Nurses Way - A Key Route for Key Workers' https://t.co/M4ESUGqI9K? It is a proposed active travel route in Exeter linking Marsh Barton to the north of the city. Royal Devon strongly supports this and encourage community participation in any proposals.

I'm hearing reports that another NHS staff member cycling to work was hit by a driver today outside RD&E hospital @RoyalDevonNHS Exeter. Enough is enough. We need protected cycle routes on major roads in Exeter starting with the #NursesWay.

If transport planners look to commuting data or Strava they deduce trips = in/out centre. We 💡 routes needed for everyday journey. For many 👩👧 these are multi-stop orbital routes like the #NursesWay.

Likewise in Exeter, painted "cycle lanes" cause similar problems. The famous* pinch point on Barrack Rd springs to mind. We need a kerb protected route. #NursesWay
*Famous to people who cycle. People who drive probably have no idea of the trouble it causes.
My attempt to convince my daughter that "it's safe to cycle three miles to Chelsea on a Sunday afternoon, don't worry" was always doomed to failure.
Bear in mind — official advice is to move into the centre of the lane as you approach a pinch point, so this driving is bizarre:
