This is what 11 levels of #octree mesh refinement looks like. The root cell is 500m wide, and the smallest cell is 0.24m wide. In this case there are just 2 'blanket' layers, which gives a total mesh size of 51million cells. Runtime 10minutes (that's mesh, solve & VTK file write)

I'm so far unable to create a simple test case for the voxel seams issue. I suspect it only happens at lower depths, i.e. where floating pt rounding errors would be more significant. Would be nice to track this down though, as it probably impacts performance. #svo #voxel #octree

If you pause the LOD streaming you can see how much detail is loaded for the original camera viewpoint. The full octree is 6gb on disk, but only about 150mb needs to be loaded at any time @ 720p (or 400mb for 1080p). #svo #voxel #octree #opengl

Voxel data is now streamed in via a background thread, which has eliminated the stutter. I couldn't get glMapBufferRange working on the background thread, but it turns out glBufferSubData works fine. #svo #voxel #octree #opengl
