It’s been a little over a year since @rodarmor released the #ordinaltheory & under 2 weeks since the #runeprotocol went live.
Airdrops, pre-mines & memes have had a great start. Now, infrastructure and utility must emerge.

Understanding Bitcoin's layers underlines the potential for Layer Two solutions to change the world of finance. Vitalik built #Ethereum to expand the transaction processing capabilities of Bitcoin, but in another chain. With #OrdinalTheory, and Bitcoin’s layers, we can now do this for Bitcoin assets.
Really a thought provoking conversation from @t4t5 on how #Bitcoin blocks now have values all tied to (and derrived directly from) the creation of #ordinaltheory.
"By conservative estimates, the data in block 840,000 is easily worth at least $50M dollars."
Why does this matter? Effectively, for the first time ever (since the creation of Bitcoin) something other than electricity is a factor in changing how bitcoin operates.
Miners could change their actions from just verifying the chain and start competing inside the chain against other miners for value and control of assets.
With a lot of things coming down the pipeline for #runes (to be effective on the 840,000 block), the halving block, the creation of an EPIC SAT, there is going to be a lot of eyes on the chain (from the miners). With no uncertain words, the miners are going to compete to manipulate a win over these chain assets (moving forward).
How do we know this will happen? Because it already is happening. Miners are already extracting the #bitmap from every block they successfully mine. Not to mention these rare sats being sold directly from a miner in bulk sale: https://t.co/5fLafBiT4y
What does this mean? No clue, other than hold onto your OG collections and BRC20s for dear life. There are companys with millions of dollars competing for new assets like #runes. There is no doubt they want #ORDI.
Aside: Why would a Bitcoin miner need a fee when the fee to mine the block is minimal in comparison to extracting the initial (ordinal, BRC20, Bitmao, Sat) asset from the block.
