Over the past two days, I joined stakeholders from across the country at the first ever #Power4Health National Stakeholders' Dialogue to collaboratively develop sustainable solutions to address power challenges in Nigeria’s health facilities.
This dialogue convened by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare with support from the Federal Ministry of Power brought together key stakeholders from across sectors to explore innovative power solutions, strengthen partnerships, and build a consensus on practical and efficient frameworks.
This was an opportunity to deeply interrogate the existing policy frameworks, financing mechanisms, strategic partnerships and mindset shifts required to enable power sufficiency for all health facilities in Nigeria.
Stakeholders included leaders of government at the executive level, national assembly, state ministries, regulatory bodies, agencies, parastatals, development partners, media and the private sector.
The dialogue ended with a commitment to collaborate towards ensuring reliable power supply to our country's health facilities.

Collaboration across sectors is vital for powering Nigeria’s health system. Without it, health facilities remain vulnerable to fragmented efforts, high costs, and an unreliable energy supply, hindering care delivery and outcomes.
The last Panel at the #Power4Health dialogue, “What are the current strengths, weaknesses, opportunities & threats to intersectoral collaboration?” explored pathways to stronger partnerships for sustainable health energy solutions.

Day 2 of the #Power4Health Dialogue is focusing on powering healthcare in Nigeria through collaboration and innovation.
Sessions are exploring strengthening Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), financing mechanisms for health sector energy needs, and fostering intersectoral synergy to ensure reliable, sustainable electricity in healthcare facilities.
This sets the stage for actionable solutions that improve service delivery, reduce costs, and save lives.

Reliable power is the lifeline of quality healthcare. Without it, surgeries are disrupted, emergencies are delayed, and lives are put at risk. Stable electricity is non-negotiable for Nigeria’s tertiary hospitals.

Yesterday, we joined the head of the @ADCinUganda, @MinofHealthUG, @WHOUganda, and @UN_Women in monitoring the impact of the POWER project in Adjumani.
We are jointly implementing this #Power4Health with @FAWEUganda and @UNYPA1 to impact the livelihood and health of young women.
Because the same people are involved at least four times, the cluster model has improved the style of information transfer and learning.

Our peer educators are engaging their peers in table talks under the @UN_Women Power Project, using the cluster model, where they share information of sexual reproductive health and rights and also refer power group members to the nearby health centers for services.

We were at Ukusijoni Health Centre III yesterday for a youth day, where we provided clients with free family planning services and information.
Peers held table talks, health education, and made referrals to give sexual reproductive health and rights information.

We hosted our youth day on Wednesday at Ayiri health center III in Ciforo Subcounty, Adjumani, which was strategically positioned to service the four power groups of Ukokondruta of Maji 1,Amavuandraga of Maji 2, Unity of Maji 2, Anzovule Maji3, and OvimBaku Maji 3.
