On the operationally critical Phidang Bridge, Sikkim, BRO executed comprehensive River Training Works—constructing 122 m of retaining wall (12 m high), strengthening bridge abutments and undertaking extensive desilting of the Teesta River.
Swift execution has reinforced the Phidang Bridge, safeguarding the vital connectivity to North & East Sikkim.

On 03 Aug 2026, the fearless BRO Karamyogis of 107 RCC, Project Swastik@BRO rescued a local after he fell nearly 100 feet down a steep slope towards the Teesta River on the Gangtok–Chungthang Road.
Led by *JE Badrinath Bal and Hav/NA Shaha Najir Maidushaha,* the team braved the treacherous terrain, rescued the unconscious victim, administered first aid, and swiftly evacuated him to District Hospital, Mangan—saving a precious life.
BRO doesn't just build roads. It stands ready to save lives, serve humanity, and never leaves anyone behind.
