Lauren Keyana Palmer, We like to spell out and call our legends by their full name. Isaiah 43:19 says, BEHOLD I WILL DO A NEW THING. You stepped into our hearts and on our screens over 20 years ago and immediately you became ours. A light that beams like a 5:30 AM sunrise through a window pane in Robbins, Illinois. A laugh that echoes and reverberates like a 6-year old child named Akeelah spelling her name into a floor fan on a hot summer day. The Character of your character has always filled every room that your spirit has touched. You have given us permission to Speak Louder. Love harder. Dream Bigger, all while being your full self. The gag is: That thieves can never steal from champions. Let that kiki be what continues to carry you — As you have championed Black Women time and time again. Hold on to the love that you have given everyone else, but this time make sure to save some for yourself. Mother May I tell you - that baby you will always be Keke Palmer. Love, #ESSENCE
