Imam Al-Muzani is one of the pillars of Shafi’i School, and he is the uncle of Imam Tahawi. Imam Tahawi was a young man, and Imam Muzni was trying to prepare him to be a Shafie scholar, but at that time Al-Tahawi was not interested in seeking the knowledge, so his uncle got tired and gave up on him saying “I swear that you’re not going to get the knowledge”. Imam Al-Tahawi surprised everyone, and turned from being a playful young man to a student of knowledge after the death of his uncle. He then turned into the Hanafi fiqh and became one of its pillars. Imam Al-Tahawi said: “May Allah have his mercy on my uncle Imam Al-Muzni, If he saw my condition today, he would have take back his oath.” May Allah have his mercy on both of them, and all of our scholars.
