Ed Broadbent has died.
He served as the leader of the NDP from 1975 to 1989, taking it to its greatest height in 1988 (prior to 2011) when it won 43 seats.
He served in the House of Commons from 1968 to 1990 & 2004 to 2006.
He was widely respected by colleagues in Parliament.

@CraigBaird My condolences to his family. I met him many times when I worked for the NDP on the Hill in the 70s. Me and Tommy Douglas’ secretary shared an office and Mr Broadbent always took the time to chat with us if we passed in the hall.
