Today, a group of soldiers was targeted in an #IED attack followed by an ambush while they were en route to #Ramro via Pasni. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of all 14 soldiers. The high death toll is common for operations in southern Balochistan, which is extremely difficult due to multiple factors like rough terrain, minimal to no communication infrastructure and the ease of escape routes known to local insurgents who know the terrain inside out. Despite the odds stacked against them, the jawans of the #PakistanArmy do not waver once before the call of duty. They continue to provide safety and security to the people, participate in the socio-economic development of these far-flung areas and hope that one day the people of Balochistan will witness a prosperous future. The forces of evil, however, continue to target everything including developmental projects under the pretext of “Baloch Freedom”. My question to these elements is: what kind of freedom struggle allows them to destroy the newly built infrastructure that is meant to uplift the Baloch people or martyr the soldiers who cohabit the people of Balochistan against think and thin? In reality, these insurgents are snakes who strike and then run to the nearest hole instead of directly confronting the adversary.
