Gurley was killed in Denton on July 23, and the investigation into the circumstances of her death is ongoing. #JusticeForDylanGurley

25 yr old Michelle Henry was killed in San Francisco on May 15th. Our sister was a light in the SF trans community. She participated in the SF LGBT Center’s youth programs and was a mentor to young trans babies. She is the 15th sibling to be killed this year.

i think #restinpride is a great option for nonBlack LGBTQIA2+ folks. the death of every trans person matters deeply & deserves to be known & mourned- but please listen to Black people & stop co-opting the specific phrases they create to highlight losses in the Black community.
Of course, this not to take away from Nex Benedict’s murder by far. Words just mean things and we absolutely should be outraged and demanding justice while respecting terminology cultivated and reserved for black individuals.
