@LibbielSystem Part of the nature of being a system is having different perspectives and values and sometimes those different perspectives and values lead to different conclusions. It can be really hard to work with when/if that happens especially when those conclusions are illogical/cruel
@paruremars Strong scents and tastes. We keep a pack of Cayenne flakes nearby us so we can take a bit if we notice we’re going into a dissociative episode or flashbacks
That struggle is real.. know Lilith was upset that our group therapy only know us as Brittany, since she’s completely different from Brit… but the one time she tried to tell people the therapist kept calling us Brittany..
he has his own name and identity and finds it distressing that the people around him do not know him as himself.
it's like if everyone just suddenly started calling you a different name and pronouns, then got confused when you corrected them, because that's ALWAYS been your name.
… this system shit is not easy… having to deconstruct beliefs that our abusers beat into us with one part after another, while dealing with my own particular problems and navigating my own trauma is exhausting.
@RUST_V2 Light sheet with a fan? Doesn’t work for us (the air circulation makes it feel like there’s movement in the room, which freaks us out) but might for you :-)
@atlasm0m3nts Think? We do. Unsure since we haven’t found everyone yet.
Bare minimum we have more middles than adults, since a lot of trauma happened then.
@_abyssmalbeings Ours is massive. Several planets metaphorically representing side systems, with vast empty spaces between representing amnestic barriers between systems.
@RUSTSICK We have a pain box on our end but yeah…
(though since we’ve started working on building autonomy with it, it’s evolved into a mimic, which is pretty cool)
@stevonniefan It’s tough. Specially if you’ve been the host for a bit. Main thing that helped Sean was coming to the realization (and internalizing it) that it’s not just the host’s life, it’s everyone’s.
@featherleafern@clusterxpansion It’s a trauma disorder, so not only do you get all the fun of alters (and the various types of memory loss with that) you get CPTSD symptoms thrown in as well…
Really wish it was just alters sometimes… hyper vigilance is exhausting.
@illestdottore I mean, the plurality of DID isn’t what gives us the most trouble. It’s the trauma caused maladaptive coping skills and the CPTSD. I could see why someone would feel fulfilled by the internal friendships that can form, know I enjoy the company of quite a few of our mates.
@lazuritesys Somehow we’ve managed to miss that discourse. Which is good… we have a few (myself included) who don’t really want to source separate.
Even if they’re not real, the memories of me and my friends causing mischief make me happy, and I don’t want to lose that.
