When I heard the news last night, I cried.
We have been fighting to get the #SCARAct passed since the summer of 2018. And, even though it came at the end of the vile Trump administration's reign of terror on immigrants, it is still important.

I am proud to report Governor Cuomo signed the #SCARAct tonight! Thank you to all the advocates & @NYSenBenjamin who never gave up on #KeepingFamiliesTogether.
We passed the #SCARAct tonight. It requires more transparency in our foster care system so we know what kids need, especially in terms of mental health or language support. Important given the President’s inhimane family separation policy & kids ending up in NY’s system.

If there are only 8,000 beds in the ORR shelter network due to COVID restrictions, then what the administration *should* be doing is working on speeding up the sponsorship process so these kids can get to a family member quickly.
I doubt they're doing that; they love "crises."
