Instead, a fundraising website was launched with the #ScotRef, appealing for donations from anyone who was in favour of a separate Scotland. The appeal featured a video from the First Minister urging supporters to sign a pledge "to support Scotland's referendum" and to make a donation to the SNP’s independence fighting fund.

While the @COPFS seems to be happy not to press charges against anyone else over the #SNP missing Ring Fenced #ScotRef funds. There has been no answer to why John Swinney, Nicola Sturgeon, Colin Beattie, Shirley Ann-Sommerville & Scott Martin failed to call the authorities over the missing funds and instead offered excuses, denials or silence. Only recently did John Swinney change his tune and claim all that money had been spent and wasn't ring fenced after all or interwoven in the SNP accounts.
Shirley Ann-Summerville was the Deputy SNP CEO from 2013-2016 so worked hand in hand with Peter Murrell. Scott Martin worked in the same office as Peter Murrell and worked hand in hand with Peter Murrell during the Yes campaign 2012-2014 and right up till he was made redundant in January 2025 after Peter Murrell had been charged.
Colin Beattie was the SNP Treasurer for 16 years and never noticed a thing wrong? In fact he claimed there was no missing funds and it could be deployed at a moments notice (plainly untrue). Nicola Sturgeon was married to Peter Murrell and yet failed to call the authorities and claims she never noticed the MotorHome or the new cars? She then told others to stop asking questions about the party finances in March 2021.
John Swinney appointed Peter Murrell as the CEO in 2000 and offered false claims that a loan was to cover "a short term cashflow issue" in June 2021. The police launched a criminal investigation in July 2021.
Next week Peter Murrell will be sentenced for his criminal offences of embezzlement of £400,000 of SNP party funds. However John Swinney has admitted that the £667,000 #Indyref2 fund is also missing. What next? How long will the Police ignore the tissue of lies and the attempts to cover up the missing Ring Fenced #Indyref2 funds? It is after all a criminal conspiracy to cover up fraud.
Finally there's Ian McCann who is the SNP Compliance Officer who worked hand in hand with Peter Murrell on all sorts of Electoral Commission issues and was central to picking and vetting candidates. Ever wonder how some candidates didn't get picked while others did he was involved along with Scott Martin? How could he not notice what his boss Peter Murrell was doing?👇
Ring Fenced is a legal term and was used to solicit donations from the public. #ScotRef was attracting donations from Yes supporters not just members of the SNP. So this is a simple case of fraud. However further than the criminal offence of fraud is a criminal conspiracy to cover up the fraud which has played out in public and on the record since 2019 when @WingsScotland first started reporting the missing Ring Fenced Funds.
Time and again the SNP leadership lied to cover up what has now been claimed by @JohnSwinney as spent on other activities. Conspiracy to defraud has clearly been established.

Swinney is ensuring that Sturgeon's mess is his mess by trying to justify the unjustifiable. The 2017 #ScotRef fundraiser was supposed to be "ring-fenced" for an independence referendum. It was very clearly marketed on that basis. He should stop digging.

Many will recall the #ScotRef fundraising appeal was launched in March 2017 - weeks before Theresa May surprised the country by calling a snap UK general election.
The fundraising part of the website was quietly taken down in June that year after the SNP's vote dropped.

Nicola Sturgeon directly fronted the campaign that encouraged independence supporters to contribute. She launched the online fundraising drive—branded as the #ScotRef appeal on 13 March 2017, on the exact same day she formally announced her intentions to pursue a second referendum on Scottish independence.
The devil is in the detail. However the first lie from both @NicolaSturgeon and her husband at the time @PeterMurrell was the promise on camera and in writing that all donations to #ScotRef would be "Ring Fenced" and only spent on the #Indyref2 campaign. 2017.
Then years later after all the fraud and embezzlement Nicola Sturgeon tells the media there's no legal requirement to hold any funds in different accounts. 2021. This is untrue "Ring Fenced" is a legal term. @PoliceScotland at the very least should re-open the investigation into Nicola Sturgeon as the evidence is clear she misled the public to donate then signed off the accounts in full knowledge there's no Ring Fenced Funds. Nicola is a trained solicitor so she should know the law?

The Murrell investigation started because of a crowdfunder in 2017 called #ScotRef which specifically asked for funds for an indyref 2 campaign. The whole of the indy movement has been exploited: Swinney presenting it as solely an SNP matter is no good.

Liars tend to forget the details of their lies. That's how they trip up. Nicola Sturgeon promised on camera that #ScotRef donations would be "Ring Fenced and Only Spent on an indyref2 Campaign". Then years later after the funds had disappeared she told the media "that there was no legal requirement to hold funds separately". That of course was a lie. Then when the #SNP NEC dared to ask about the party finances @NicolaSturgeon told them "to be very careful". Clearly trying to silence the NEC.
