Thank you to the #US delegation at the #OSCE for calling on #Kazakhstan to bring justice to those responsible for the killing of journalist & political refugee Aidos #Sadykov in #Kyiv this June. Aidos was assassinated for exposing the Kazakhstani regime’s help to #Russia in circumventing Western sanctions. The assassins, two Kazakhstani nationals suspected to be special service agents, shot Aidos in the head in front of his wife Natalia & escaped the same day via #Moldova & #Türkiye to Kazakhstan. This is a horrific case of transnational repression! Aidos’ widow, Natalia Sadykova, a journalist and political refugee and mother of three, remains in danger in #Ukraine.

On 16 July 2024, civil activist from #Zhanaozen Zhadyra #Dosekeyeva was fined 380$ for "violation of the law on peaceful assemblies" for trying to gather and honour the memory of Kazakhstani journalist Aidos #Sadykov, who was killed in Kyiv in June 2024.

On June 18, 2024, an attempt was made on Aidos Sadykov in #Kyiv. The killers turned out to be citizens of #Kazakhstan: Meiram #Karataev and Altai #Zhakanbaev.
