Muslim organisations in Sri Lanka should appeal to the Saudi authorities for clemency. At the same time, the Government of India must make a strong diplomatic intervention to stop his death sentence.
What he did cannot be justified. But no mistake should necessarily end with a death sentence.

Because of a social media post.
Someone insulted Lord Shiva in a comment section, prompting him to respond by insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
Within minutes, he deleted the post and even posted a video apology.
The Saudi courts still decided to give him 5 years in prison.
They later increased the punishment to the death penalty.
I urge the Saudi government to reconsider this decision.
No one should be killed for a social media post.
