We didn't #SaveTheBus - The "premium" buses are co-branded privatisation of Chennai's public transit.
P570S and P91 are not @MtcChennai fleet, but are "fully private operated under revenue sharing" - which explains the high fare without a GO. #Chennai
Buses != #PublicTransit
see this thread, the situation is dire, we cannot let our transit system die by a thousand cuts demand candidates #savethebus
Starting March 8, five MCTS bus routes will be shortened and have their frequencies reduced. This is apart of the next round of service cuts due to the current budget deficit MCTS is facing.

We differ though. The @WorldBank expectation that PTSC need not be public itself - is deeply problematic.
We continue to engage with @WorldBank
@MtcChennai Your annual report is 1 week past due - even as per that World Bank program transparency requirements. #SaveTheBus.

@reclaimchennai @dstock_insights Gap in revenue for buses that don't run? More revenue for hiring buses at inflated rates? Sex 288A is essentially defunding of transport and privatising it. The current govt has blood on its hands on this matter

#SaveTheBus - The Sec 288A has to be seen in context of the insurmountable debt, very little has changed since @ptrmadurai released white paper on state of finance.
