Dear Workers of the world,
If you were planning to strike, would you;
A. Aim to cause disruption?
B. Want it to go unnoticed?

Resident Doctors are not the enemy.
Mr Incompetence @wesstreeting and his cabal of inept #NHS Managers are destroying Healthcare through their insistence on using unqualified charlatans.

The Government have underestimated the strength of feeling and will of resident doctors and need to urgently find a way to settle with them before they are recruited to Australia and other much more attractive and appreciative destinations.
@apanakdikato buat lah camna pun, Sabahan tetap tolak calon2 PAS.. jgn pikir Sabahan mudah dikencing, bak kata pepatah ' ular biar sejuta kali tukar kulit tetap dia berbisa'.. #SayNOtoPAS

@DrAnimeshSingh Not going anywhere near that hospital. I want to be seen by a rheumatologist not a PA! #SayNotoPAs
hospital tomorrow afternoon to meet with doctors to discuss my upcoming major surgery and undergo pre operative assessment. I’ll be making sure in the consult that it’s noted on my records that I do not want any #physicanassociates involved in my care. #saynotoPAs
Can't wait to compare this with the PA scope document being produced by @RCPhysicians plus list of tasks that PAs *cannot* do (re internal medicine). Watch this space folks! Meanwhile, the sooner there's a PAUSE on PA rollout, the safer we patients will be ✅

Their tables highlight some of the conditions that PAs can’t treat
Same document, they include the *same things* on the list of things PAs can treat:
‘Out of scope of practice: pregnancy related issues’
‘PAs can manage/diagnose/refer problems in pregnancy’.
Incompetent.
3/5
@drmattuk @UMAPsUK @pa_StephenNash To me this looks like a low-key poster presentation from a conference but lacks academic rigour or integrity since *none* of the limitations of the role are presented. And why the 'adverts'? I'd give it a 3/10 at best! 😐

@kindnotruth @Mary_Tom11 @hamishausk @ITVWales Trust me, those of us who know are petrified at the prospect of seeing PAs hence check out anyone who claims to be a medic before engaging. We patients do NOT want substandard healthcare from grossly underqualified staff.

Never mind the GMC, it's no longer fit for purpose. Patients will vote with their feet! Nothing personal, just a safety thing whether PAs choose to believe it or not.

@NewcastleHosps @wesstreeting pleases respond ASAP. This is a pressing public safety issue. This post is for a *Dr* not a PA trained for 2yrs!! We the public deserve, pay for & demand highly trained, skilled, expert Drs delivering our healthcare.

@NewcastleHosps No wonder their lives are shorter when you allow underqualified physician associates to run cancer clinics performing procedures that they aren’t knowledgeable enough to do .
@NewcastleHosps how is this safe for patients ? How can a dependent PA make autonomous decisions ?
@Jean_Jeannie1 @Cray_tweets1 But this is the whole point, is a PA adequately trained to carry out the procedure *safely*? - which involves knowing what to do if something goes wrong. For me the answer is NO.

@ClinOncDoc It's terrible that PAs were fed a lie by their training establishments etc, but as a patient I dearly hope that this *rapidly* brings an end to the unsafe, unregulated PA experiment. We want DOCTORS *not* PAs.

@medicalmodelbri So one PA in GP land does the telephone triaging? Good to know that we patients also have to check who we're speaking to even at this stage *before* getting an appointment! Oh, and ASK FOR A DOCTOR 👍🏽

@Mary_Tom11 @11teadubya @1choiceatatime @iDrSunny @gold103x @PatrickMackle4 The thought of PAs being allowed to prescribe - on top of the extensive holes they have in their knowledge - seriously hurts my head 🤕. I'm not kidding...

@gmcuk @NHSEngland there are *NO* shortcuts for training Drs. None.

📝 Damning summary from the Coroner:
🚨 “There is no national framework as to how Physician Associates should be trained, supervised & deemed competent. This is placing both patients, PAs & their employers at risk.
🚨 The court heard that since the death of Mrs Pollitt the Northern Care Alliance have put in place a local trust framework. Unlike all other clinical roles there is no national guidance save for very recent guidance issued by the British Medical Association (March 2024).
🚨 Whilst the competency form assessed the technical aspect of placing the drain, it did NOT include competency around the wider aspects of care such as taking consent, risk factors & after care.”
📢 @gmcuk @NHSEngland we have been telling you for months PA training is NOT up to the mark, they are not makeshift doctors & you haven’t been listening!!
@ExplosiveEnema2 Dear FY1 resident doctors, never forget that your first duty to us patients is to BE SAFE. Don't listen to the #BeKind bs coming from the PA enablers who are intent on gaslighting you. And don't let them replace you. We want *Drs* NOT PAs.
