Proud science dad moment. My 17 mo old daughter has a book about science words. And when she sees the divers she points and says "Dada!"🥰

Very nice, very important. I definitely had good #mentors for which I am grateful, and very much looking forward to serving as a lifetime one for my trainees. #lovescience #mentoring #sciencefamily #scienceparent
"Mentoring is not something you do just for a couple of years while someone is working with you; the position of mentor is a lifetime appointment, much like being a parent." https://t.co/fEjVS6VvKF
Proud #ScienceParent moment. I was measuring the space for an upgraded school-from-home desk for my daughter and counting off the dimensions in inches. She asked me how long that was in centimeters! Gotta love the metric system!

Impressed that my daughter came home from Biology camp with 3 seagrass samples for our lab @CurtinUni. All in separate bags to avoid cross contamination. Proud #scienceparent moment #girlsinstem
When you just take your little boy out for a test run on the boat and get distracted by some of the >10 whales out in the bay but you're driving and also trying to get a fluke shot but also want a little video of him getting into it. Hah. Too much going on. #scienceparent
Last night my kids had chicken for dinner. My 7-year-old daughter saw some fat that she didn't like:
"Oh no, there's some fat on my chicken... (cuts it off, hands to me). There you go daddy: go and study it" 😆
Proud #ScienceParent!

How are #ScienceParents coping with giving online seminars/lectures during shelter in place? I currently have to ask my kids (+an adult) to be out for a walk. We live in a cozy 2 bed/1 bath house with no office/quiet space. Online activities do not work 100%. Any tips/advice?
Significantly more turbid than during the leak. Littlest one comparing to her sample. This is #ScienceParent bliss

Dear #miCROPe community, thank you for a great meeting, perfect organization, but most of all spreading new ideas and enabling collaborations. Sad to miss the final talk due to a sudden @Lufthansa ✈ cancelation #scienceparent

Bringing my partner and the 6month old for the first time. They’ll be checking out the city while I go to symposia. If you don’t see me try the baby changing areas or quiet spaces... It’s going to be an interesting #balancingact! #scienceparent
TFW you get home from work and just want to lie down, but then you realise the hardest part of the day is only just about to start: feed the kids, take them to bed and clean the flat. #scienceparent
