There also needs to be a lot more research which was one of the conclusions from the recent NICE investigation into the use of #SeHCAT
@GGiebner @baduksupport There is a great research opportunity here for a study to correlate actual #SeHCAT results with the treatments given and patient outcomes. Very little relevant research has been done since NICE's last review in 2012.

How to diagnose #bileacidmalabsorption? A #SEHCAT test! But #NICE say prevalence is so high (97%) in some #crohns patients that test not req'd. So why isn't BAM treated as standard post #terminalileum surgery? Are patients warned pre-op of this side effect?

For those of us who have lost their #terminalileum #NICE state 97% will be affected. On that basis surely treatment should be a matter of course, post-surgery @baduksupport
