Was @PivotalEd course and as an old OT rocking away - #ShakeyHandGang can think of some young people with ASD who may like unique handshake routine shared across carers, befriended, shortbreaks, grandparents etc. Worth thinking about if school is doing it 😎

Some of the criticisms of #shakeyhandgang are disheartening. Nobody is forcing kids to shake their hands. If your classroom is run of fear and would enforce this then don't do it. Build relationships, know your context, know your kids... then decide if it is appropriate.
