Only in #smalltown #iowa can you enjoy awesome live music in a front yard on a #holidayweekend. Huge thanks to @HeyParkerMcKay for visiting #slateria! And #HappyFourthOfJuly all!

Big THANKS to my pal @brewerbebe for kicking off the #Christmas Season by visiting #SlaterIA’s Main Street Tree!

In the 1940s & 1950s, the #SlaterIA installed a #Christmas tree in the middle of Main Street. The tradition was revived in 1988, in advance of the town’s 1989 centennial. The tree is installed in a dummy manhole to ensure it stands up to gusty winds. #JessTweetsHistory2019

@guitarted1961 @zenbiking This would be such an interesting list. I'll be starting a Google Doc. Recently I learned how #SlaterIA and #SheldahlIA were on different railroads, leading to two towns so close together on the #HighTrestleTrail.
