This is the direct result of Israel’s policy in Gaza since October 2023. Throughout this period, Israeli politicians, decision-makers, and military commanders have made public statements reflecting genocidal intent and the dehumanization of Palestinians. These were then translated into a policy that included massive and indiscriminate bombings, the use of starvation as a weapon, ethnic cleansing, the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure and medical institutions, and killing on an unprecedented scale. These patterns, alongside knowledge of their implications and the continuation of the attacks despite repeated warnings, point to a wide-reaching, coordinated attack aimed at destroying Palestinian society in the Gaza Strip as a group.
