Helllooooo has anyone got any data they can point me in the direction of that shows the discrepancies between the attainment of autumn and summer born children?

@bphillipsonMP @Bournemouth4EU @ArkSchools The issue of #summerborn children starting school before they are ready needs looking at again.
Too many parents still suffering stress and inconvenience, too many schools still not following DforE guidance.
Previously promised legislation and SA Code changes still needed.
@sb_campaign
The DforE say over 90% of "delayed start to Reception" requests for #summerborn children are granted.
For @LincolnshireCC - this figure is just FIVE per cent.
A look at this FOI response from LCC shows why:

Many stories of schools refusing to let #Summerborn pupils start school, in reception, a year later, or move down a year. The data is stark, we know these kids can sometimes struggle throughout their education, this Gov & @educationgovuk has failed this contingent so badly.
@biggusvernus @sooper_genius @sb_campaign You do not have to have a cut off. Some #Summerborn pupils will thrive, some will not. Staff at the child’s nursery & parents can liaise with school, boys are of particular concern, eldest children & those with a family history of dyslexia.
If your #Summerborn child is being forced to start reception this September aged just 4 & you see them struggling get on it. Make your case with the school & follow @sb_campaign being 25% younger than some in your class can make a huge difference take years to even out.
@alexlloydjourno @hannahfearn @KatStorrWriter Great for you all, but there is a lot of data supporting the case that being #Summerborn can & does have a negative impact on many pupils.
Being #Summerborn can negatively impact your education & life chances. Some pupils who arrive at school age just 4 thrive, but some don’t & it’s vital that parents & teachers of Summer born pupils are able to act. 2 of our boys moved down a year, I just wish I done it sooner.
@KirstieMAllsopp you’ve spoken out before about summer borns, would you help us spread the word about this postcode lottery and the seemingly blanket policy in Lincolnshire most of which applied had headteachers approval at their requested school #csareceptionstart #summerborn
It seems @LincolnshireCC is failing Lincolnshire #summerborn children that request #csareceptionstarts and in big way in comparison to surrounding areas!

Are you all aware of what’s happening regarding our Lincolnshire #Summerborn children whose parents want #csareceptionstarts @ClIrmHill @ClIrpBradwell @Jokavanagh12 @heather_sandy @MJSmith_HT @SusanAclandHood
@CYPMentalHealth @supportscn @EarlyYearsEqual @ChildrensComm
@dianabarran 's 2022 statement said “the large majority of requests for delayed entry to reception are now approved, with almost 9 in 10 approved each year." This is not the case in Lincolnshire, where the council have rejected 95% of applications this year #summerborn
It seems @LincolnshireCC is failing Lincolnshire #summerborn children that request #csareceptionstarts and in big way in comparison to surrounding areas!
@sb_campaign @dianabarran @NickGibbUK @karlmccartney @S_Hammond @RishiSunak @GillianKeegan @educationgovuk
@LincolnshireCC have decided it’s in our 5 yr olds best interests to miss reception and go straight to yr 1 in Sept! The postcode lottery on #csareceptionstarts continues! #summerborn @dianabarran @educationgovuk @NickGibbUK @RishiSunak @GillianKeegan @karlmccartney
@ChildrensComm @educationgovuk #Summerborn children are disproportionately more likely to be offered or need SEN support. This is avoided for many when they enter reception class at compulsory school age, but this option is not always supported.
@sb_campaign
#postcodelottery
A sensible contribution to the #SummerBorn debate for pupils.
Providing age-adjusted test scores so that a child receives feedback about their attainment relative to others their age, rather than others in their class, would help address the educational inequalities we observe.
What's the truth in the claim summer-born children are disadvantaged by the education system?
@HKorbey digs into complex research, amplified anecdote and broad teacher expertise to work out what schools need to know.

@naomicfisher And yet my #summerborn child who started school at compulsory school age may be forced to miss a whole year to be put in his “correct” cohort. Just bizarre.
