#TMOT25 it’s very interesting how Mr. Delamere is so modern. His views regarding race lean much more towards equality, especially for a southerner from the time period. I wonder why this is? Could it somehow be linked to Tom’s “swarthiness?” Maybe an event from the past?

@emanneotation @krempaskym #tmot25 I agree.If he hadn't had his mind on Clara, he may have found the truth.He didn't think too much of it so we can assume that he is going off of what he saw.I don't blame him for stating what he saw, but am frustrated that he didn't look into it as it may have saved Sandy.

@krempaskym I think he said it because it shows how much of an honorable man Ellis is because he did see (or at least he was quite certain) Sandy and he wouldn’t lie about it because that would conflict with his moral ethics. #TMOT25

Why is Mr. Delamere willing to sacrifice his family honor for Sandy? As an old white man, I expected him to be racist like Carteret and protect his grandson. This shows that not all white people were racist, and we should not subscribe to stereotypes about either side. #TMOT25
