1) Two women show up with binoculars (birdwatchers!) We talk birds for a while, and then one says "do you know Timothy W Ventimiglia?" YES! He was our museum designer from 2004 through 2008. Marcela last visited the ship around 2006!
2) Found these two lying on the deck "so we can feel the rolling of the ship." It was his birthday. His company worked on plans for alternative ship fuels.

We regret to inform you that the @NYCEDC has said that the gate to Pier 11 has to be kept locked due to some security issues up the pier. Daily #TankerTime access to the tanker #MaryWhalen is stopped for now. Our special events can proceed. We have a meeting with the EDC on Wednesday afternoon July 30, during which we hope a better arrangement can be found. #RedHook
