Personally, it’s the process I strive for in translation before I get in the pulpit & what we’re taught to do in #textdriven preaching after structural analysis. However, I’m not always as clear as your Friend distills here in your tweet. Very good.
It's Tuesday but Sunday's coming. This is how it usually begins. An open Bible, sentence diagramming, commentary spadework, and a starting outline and flow for the sermon.
And this, 2-3 times a week. ;-) The best calling in the world!

Explain the text verse by verse & make clear application. Illustrate in moderation, just enough to shine light on the text.
