Reports from the Tigray region indicate that the #TPLF has attacked the headquarters of the Tigray Regional Transitional Authority, which is led by Getachew Reda.
The Mekelle airport is among the places the group attacked and captured, according to some sources.
TPLF forces are also said to have taken control of the city of Adigrat, the second-largest city in the Tigray region.
TPLF forces are reported to have driven the city from the Tigray Transitional Authority, which is supported by the Ethiopian Federal Government.
The President of the Tigray Regional Transitional Authority, @reda_getachew in a long statement on his social media, heavily accused a small group of #TPLF members who he said were behind the attack.
Mr. Reda said that military officers who took the law into their own hands massacred and killed the people of Tigray who opposed their decision, according to him.
The situation in Tigray is unpredictable and could lead to a full-scale war between two former TPLF factions led by Getachew Reda, who is supported by the Ethiopian Central Government, and #TPLF faction chairman Debretsion Gebremichael @realDebretsion .

#Ethiopia: #ERCS reports armed confiscation of vehicles, appeals for unrestricted humanitarian aid
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) reported the unlawful seizure of two of its vehicles by armed forces on 14 February while carrying out humanitarian work in Ethiopia's #Amhara region.
In a statement released today, ERCS said the two Landcruiser vehicles with license plates 5-02826 and 5-02830 were intercepted by gunmen at a place called Asteryo Maryam, 30 km from Mota town in East Gojam zone, while en route to provide aid in South Gondar and North Gondar zones.
The society stated that the vehicles remain in possession of the armed forces. It emphasized that it will not take responsibility for any activities carried out using the vehicles and requested their return for normal humanitarian activities.
Additionally, the Ethiopian Red Cross Society reported an attack on one of its vehicles on 17 February while returning to Korem town, located in the North Wollo Zone of the Tigray Region, after transporting drought relief aid to Sekota town in the drought-stricken Wag Hemra Zone. While no staff were injured, the vehicle sustained damage, ERCS said.
"Routine attacks on vehicles and staff are severely hampering the society's efforts to serve vulnerable populations," ERCS's statement read.
The Society stressed that such actions violate the Geneva Conventions signed by Ethiopia and undermine the Red Cross mission. It urged armed groups to cease their obstruction and allow free movement of Red Cross personnel and assets so they may carry out essential humanitarian work unimpeded.
