We are continuing to appeal for information after a man was shot in the arm in #Liverpool last night, Wednesday 3 June.
We were called to Carlingford Close in #Toxteth at just after 8.40pm following reports the 19-year-old man had suffered an injury to his arm consistent with a firearm being used.
It is believed the victim had been outside the nearby Merseyside Caribbean Council community centre on Amberley Street when he was injured. There were no reports of anyone else being injured.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injury which is not believed to be life threatening. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out in the local area.
Detective Sergeant Leighanne Davies said: “At this stage the motive for the attack is unclear but it is only by sheer good luck that the man was not more seriously injured or even killed.
“We believe the male gunman was dressed in dark clothing and riding an e-bike and I would ask for anyone who was in the area around Amberley Street who saw anyone matching that description to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“Our work to remove firearms and those who choose to use them remains ongoing and we encourage the public to continue to support us by telling us what they know.”

UPDATE | Please see the latest statement from the Independent Office for Police Conduct about its investigation into an incident on Back Faulkner Street in #Toxteth #Liverpool on Friday in which a man died.

We are today, Saturday 13 December, continuing to investigate following reports shots were fired in the #Toxteth area yesterday, Friday 12 December.
We were called to Thames Street at around 4pm following reports a man on a bike had shot at three people.
Extensive enquiries including CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries have been carried out but at this stage no evidence of a discharge has been found and no shells or bullets have been recovered.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy McCourt said: "We take reports of this nature very seriously and our enquiries remain ongoing but at this stage no evidence of a discharge has been found.
"Despite extensive searches by specialist search teams and a forensic examination of the scene, we have not found any ballistic material or evidence of damage which would be consistent with a firearm discharge, furthermore nobody has come forward or presented themselves at hospital with gunshot injuries.”
