From the second version of the @ColorataShop deep sea set...the #oarfish is a new version, and the barrel eye was a new addition!

It's chilling with a fossil fish in the photo, but it spends its days lounging with the plush bichir!

It's time for a #ToyFishTuesday story in multiple parts. The toy fish are these little guys. It's a small kit that sits on my desk. A magnet moves them.
I keep the water low because people think it's a snowglobe. It is not.
But it comes with something else...

In this case, a spiny eel #mastacembelidae from the heyday of great figures from PlayVisions. It was part of their set of...eels and sea snakes π€¨.

This tiny lead(?) fish came from the R Rush workshop near Chicago, and has enough detail that I think I can call it Microhaplolepis ovoidea (Lowney 1980). Paleo fish folks, confirm or refute? #ToyFishTuesday #actinopterygian

Here's a hand-cast PU resin #Xiphactinus for #ToyFishTuesday. This nasty 5-meter #teleost roamed the sea over Kansas during the #Cretaceous. Sculpt by @Jetoarr (2017).

It's #ToyFishTuesday again, and just for fun, a weird trumpetfish #Aulostomus from a box set found in Indonesia and Japan...so far.
It really doesn't fully capture the weirdness of these fish, but it's great to see unusual species as toys. @TimDrawsFish @TetZoo
