@srinualavilli This bits and pieces work of @OfficialBMRCL is the biggest reason for #Bengaluru #trafficmess. We have been seeing #metro work for 16 years now but the only thing one sees is #delays and date #extensions.
We celebrate 5 km completion as major achievements. Poor planning and worse execution have been #hallmark of @cpro3naamametro and the corrupt and inefficient officials have escaped accountability.
Hope things will change now for better with overhaul promised by @pcjaffer and @krishnabgowda .
As Bengaluru gets ready to welcome yet another Metro Line @OfficialBMRCL "Pink" Line, few observations.
It's a short line with just 6 stations but can be a gamechanger for many due to the integration with Yellow Line at Jayadeva. This means connectivity to Green Line as well for those heading to Majestic/ Malleswaram and beyond.
Folks that work in ORR and live off Bannerghatta Road can use Pink+Yellow to get to Silk Board and hop onto the high frequency BMTC buses to get to their tech parks. The interchange will add time, but I'm guessing travel time will come down especially in the evenings.
Thousands of students at both ends of the line - Christ University students will particularly benefit.
Though it is no longer seen as 'high-tech' area as it once was, Bannerghattta Road still has many tech parks with tens of thousands of daily commuters. At Dairy circle, (3 min walking distance) we have IBC Knowledge Park with 15,000+ commuters.
There must be at least 15,000-20,000 people that work in the Kalyani Tech Parks in Dollars Colony- Kalyani Magnum, Krishna Magnum, Kalyani Vista. This area is very close to the IIMB station as the crow flies but road network is missing but perfect for a short walk!
For those that know a little trick about Apollo Hospital, it will be 800m walk! That trick is to walk through the Hospital campus which is open for public access thorough fare and directly takes you into Metro station.
Who do you think Pink Line will be most useful for?
Is it practical to expect ORR commuters to get on Pink Line?
