Appeal to the World: Eritrea Needs Our Attention – Now Eritrea is a country rich in natural resources — gold, copper, zinc, potash, and more. Yet it remains one of the poorest and most oppressed nations on Earth. The brutal dictator, Isaias Afwerki, steals the wealth and keeps the people trapped in extreme poverty, repression, and modern slavery. About 90% of Eritrea’s income comes from mining, but the money does not benefit the people. It goes straight into the dictator’s pockets to secure his power and regime. Meanwhile, millions of Eritreans live without basic rights, forced into national service that in reality is forced labor — a system of modern slavery that crushes any hope for freedom. Eritrea is isolated by international sanctions that block investment and development. The regime even uses Ethiopian ships to export goods from its own port of Assab, symbolizing the country’s deep economic and political dependency. The world must not turn away! How can we allow a resource-rich country to remain in deep poverty because of one dictator’s greed? Why does the international community ignore the regime’s grave human rights abuses and systematic exploitation? What can we do to support the Eritrean people in their fight for freedom, dignity, and justice? We call on everyone — individuals, organizations, governments, and international institutions — to stand with the people of Eritrea. Let us demand: Increased international pressure on the regime to end forced labor and guarantee human rights. Fair distribution of the country’s natural resources for the benefit of its people. An end to economic plundering and corruption at all levels. Support for the courageous Eritrean people in their struggle for freedom and justice. Eritrea’s future does not belong in the hands of a dictator — it belongs to the people who have fought for freedom for decades. The world cannot wait any longer.
