Zimbabwean politics is FULL OF INCOMPETENT & INCAPABLE people simply because those with great skills & competence aren’t interested in TOXIC POLITICS.
This poorly written document has nothing to do with impeaching President @edmnangagwa, no one has capacity & interest in doing so.
The document is nothing but a SMEAR campaign against Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei, and it’s all because of his entrance into politics. Folks can’t compete on ideas, they have resorted to authoring this long and boring essays.
If you ask me, I am happy that Tagwirei is joining the leadership matrix in ZANU PF & by extension, Zimbabwe. He is a VERY necessary addition to the leadership team because he has the Skills, Ideas, & known policies (especially regarding land tenure, business environment, education, healthcare, and empowerment of locals). It is time that his skills & ideas get to used for the good of Zimbabwe.
Of course we expect some people not to agree with Dr Tagwirei, that’s part of democracy. However, political disagreements should be based ON FACTS & they should be disagreements on ideas & policies. POLItics is about POLIcies, PERIOD!
At this stage, it’s clear that those who see Dr Tagwirei as a threat to their political ambitions HAVE NO IDEAS or POLICIES of their own, they are relying on insults & these smear campaigns.
Paying someone in Treasury Bills for work that they did is actually DISADVANTAGEOUS to the person. The best form of payment is cash, not a Treasury Bill. On top of that, Treasury Bills CANNOT lead to a currency collapse, they are actually used as a way of avoiding increasing money supply. If one is paid in Treasury Bills maturing in 10 years, the REAL AMOUNT from a $1.9 billion payment is actually less than $700 million (Present Value). That’s a bad deal for the seller (in this Kuvimba’s private shareholders, NOT TAGWIREI. The private shareholders ARE KNOWN because it has always been public information ), and a great deal for the buyer (in this case Mutapa Investment Fund, representing THE PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE).
Again, the Treasury Bills issue in this long document shows that the authors are FINANCIALLY ILLITERATE, they can’t be trusted to run a govt. Given the option between printing cash & issuing LONG TERM treasury bills, ANY SMART GOVT will use Treasury Bills to avoid inflation and currency devaluation. So, TBs can’t be linked to currency devaluation, that’s a VERY DUMB thing to say.
IS TAGWIREI NEEDED In Zimbabwean politics???
Yes, he is DESPERATELY NEEDED! He the Elon Musk of Zimbabwe! We need someone with a DOGE mindset, someone who understands how markets work, and someone with a clear record of CREATING EMPLOYMENT for thousands of people!
Personally, I think the Liberation War generation did its best, the longevity of ZANU PF & the future success of Zimbabwe will be in the hands of a different group of PATRIOTS. ZANU PF is the home of PATRIOTS, Tagwirei is MOST WELCOME & MUCH NEEDED!
