Astro scientists are part of team using new data to update the crater catalogs at the Apollo 15, 16, and 17 landing sites. This is part of a broader effort to digitize the Apollo landing site maps as a resource for scientists.

Astro scientist Colin Dundas led a team surveying Mars to find ice exposed in cliffs. They identified multiple mid-latitude locations with particularly thick, "clean" ice (as opposed to ice filling the voids in soil).

Here's my #VirtualLPSC #LPSC2020 poster take-away image. Several regional efforts are underway and refining these beautiful mineral maps using @MROCRISM mapping-mode data to identify unique compositional units on #Mars.

@USGS_AstroGeo @cstlnau @EiE_org There are 3 units: Remote Sensing (grades 6-8), Water in Extreme Environments (6-8), and Space Hazards (3-5).
Designed for out-of-school education (camps, after school clubs, etc.) but could be adapted for use at home (hint hint)
