Lots of love on twitter for our amazing emergency services. I also want to applaud the heroic efforts of @metoffice staff briefing emergency services & the public. Some haven't been home since Wed & many walked miles in snow to get to work π #WeatherSW #uksnow #BeastFromTheEast

Amazing scenes from one of our snow blowers on the A39 this afternoon. Despite the thaw in much of the county, still big snow drifts in the north #Devon area and our teams will carry on through the night to restore access to communities still cut off. #WeatherSW
Our teams are working through the drifts on the A39 and will continue through the night to enable access to Lynton/Lynmouth. We have 3 snow blowers working together and are clearing around 1-2m an hour although the height of the drift appears to be reducing. #WeatherSW

Incredible work still being done across Devon and the South West by our friends in Emergency Services and Councils. Many roads still impassible, follow travel advice please! #weatherSW #weatheraware https://t.co/LYs7zBuW5N
Our gritter and snow plough teams are focusing on areas currently most in need in the north and west of Devon. We're doing our best to clear roads but conditions are still poor in some areas. This photo shows situation on the A386 in Bowerland with cars buried. #WeatherSW

North Sands In The Snow - Thoroughly enjoyed chasing #TheBeastFromTheEast around #Salcombe. At one point I stepped off a path and the #snow was over my knee's. I don't suppose we will see that much snow for another few years. #swimstones #devonsnow #WeatherSW #beach #sea #winter

The thaw has started but some roads still difficult to navigate. Follow @DevonAlert and @HighwaysSWEST for road updates, @StagecoachSW for bus information and please heed warnings to stay away from Dartmoor and Exmoor. Travel safely #WeatherSW https://t.co/POHLorIxgh
Main roads in #Devon are largely clear and some minor roads, but not all, will be passable with care. Pavements are very icy so take care. Please stay away from Dartmoor & Exmoor and stay local if possible. Our teams are working hard to treat minor roads and reach communities.
Wishing our colleagues and all our people we support, families, relatives and friends a safe weekend with the continuing poor weather across our county. Stay safe! #snowheroes #WeatherSW
