Correct. *Total* Energy Expenditure (BMR + Incidental + Training) of a typical top male pro triathlete is approx 5,000 kcal/d!
It takes time to develop the #WorkCapacity to be able to expend (& replenish) this day after day after day!
@Alan_Couzens 3000kcal/day, i am assuming that it doesnt include required calories for normal metabolism, right?
By keeping the focus on building your general #WorkCapacity through the Winter months, when the time comes for a Work Rate focus in the Summer, you will have a huge 'Work Base' to draw on & your tolerance for specific load will be that much greater!
