Programming languages (compilers, runtimes, standard libraries, debuggers, ...) are pretty large projects, taking a lot of time to build.
Just noticed I now need to build #rust, just to test the #FreeBSD #xscreensaver #port with default build settings. 😔
Disclaimer: the linked github repo is the *workaround* I finally came up with, to enable #xscreensaver and other screen lockers using #PAM.
It's kind of similar to #LinuxPAM's workaround, just less intrusive by leveraging #pam_exec instead.
It still sucks...
#xscreensaver 6.04 finally landed in #FreeBSD #ports.
It was quite a journey, it uses a *workaround* for pam_unix requiring root, but now I think our workaround is better than the one in #LinuxPAM 😏

And it includes the pam_exec fix I've been waiting for 🥳.
So, several screen lockers (e.g. #xscreensaver) can finally be updated 😎
Really trying whatever I can to get this pam_exec bug in #FreeBSD (13.0 and 13.1) fixed!
Once there, we can update #xscreensaver and #KDE #plasma and probably improve/update ports of other screen lockers…
Suggested update to #xscreensaver 6.03 in #FreeBSD today! Still depends on the bugfix in D35169 to make it in all releases, but hey, let's hope for the best 😎

تو #xubuntu نگارش ۱۹.۰۴ مشکل قفل صفحه وجود داشت، وقتی #LockScreen انجام میشد صفحه کلا سیاه میموند و کاری نمیشد کرد تا دوباره وارد سیستمعامل شیم، با نصب #XScreenSaver مشکل حل شده
