@tempest_books The Boeing YC-14 wasn't pretty, but it was a lot better than the traditional C-17. Form follows function, but if it does not look like heritage aircraft then it stands no chance in winning a Request For Proposal (RFP). #AMST #YC14 #YC15

El #YC14 fue un prototipo (de hecho dos) para un avión STOL de carga para la #USAF, con la intención de sustituir al #C130. El programa estuvo activo 3 años y finalmente quedó desierto, aunque ambos fabricantes participantes (YC-14 e #YC15) presentaron aviones que cumplían con todos los requisitos de la USAF. Como curiosidad, los dos aviones YC-14 construidos se encuentran actualmente a sólo 4.2km uno del otro: la primera unidad con matrícula 72-1873 esta en el Pima Air & Space Museum y el segundo, el 72-1874, está en la "show line" de la base aérea Davis-Monthan. Ambos en Tucson, Arizona. #VideoHistórico

آن زمان که هواپیمای سیمرغ مطرح نشده بود،بحث استفاده از پیشران افترفن بر مبنای #موتور_اوج را برای هواپیمای #c130 نیز مطرح کردم که بچه های صنایع هوایی وزارت دفاع گفتند نمی شود و هرکولس ذخیره استراتژیک هست و نباید بهش دست زد! پیشنهاد ساخت پرنده جدید با تجربیات #yc15 را نیز مطرح کردم
